Poonch: An awareness program under Interactive School engagement was held at Govt Girls Model School (Sheesh Mahal) here Saturday to educate the students about the special electorate enrolment drive being launched for let out eligible voters.
Deputy Commissioner, Tariq Ahmad Zargar, who is also District Election Officer, presided over the function.
The DC sensitized the eligible students about importance of voting and said it is duty of every citizen to participate in democratic process.
On the occasion, the students raised queries about the process of electoral participation which were replied by the officials of SVEEP.
The main aim of the function was to inform the students about the ongoing process of electoral registrations started by Election Commission of India to enrol left out voters with special emphasis on group of young students with in age group of 18-21 years.
Principal GGMHSS Narender Mohan Suri, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
