Rajouri: the Commercial Taxes Department in collaboration with District Administration organised a daylong awareness workshop to acquaint all stake holders about GST.
The workshop witnessed good participation of Drawing and Disbursing Officers of various government departments and the traders of the district.
The workshop, being first of its kind, aimed at delineating various aspects of GST, a parliamentary law aimed at unification of tax system across the country.
The workshop cum orientation program was structured to help the participants get an overview of GST, how it removes tax barriers between states and create a single market, how tax is levied and how to register online for Tax Deduction at Source (TDS).
The resource persons including Pran Singh DC (Recovery) Commercial Taxes Department Jammu, C.T.O. Jammu Varun Bhasim and Abdur Rehman and C.T.O. Rajouri-Poonch Rizwan Asghar deliberated on various vital aspects of GST like registration, exemptions, etc. A number of queries of the participants were responded by the resource persons.
