Div Com(K) reviews progress of land acquisition cases for prestigious projects

Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan convened a meeting to review the progress of land acquisition cases of prestigious projects here Friday.

Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, SE R&B, Project Director Project Implementation Unit of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), Chief Engineer Beacon, Collector Land Acquisition PWD, Assistant Commissioner, Deputy Director Planning and other concerned officials were present in this meeting, while as Deputy Commissioner’s of Pulwama, Budgam, Baramulla, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Kargil, Leh, Anantnag, Kupwara participated in the said meeting through Video Conferencing.

Divisional Commissioner was informed that the ring road project is 61 KM long and starts from Gallandar Pampore to Manigam Ganderbal. The road will start from Pulwama to Ganderbal via Budgam, Srinagar, Baramullah and Bandipora.

Meeting was informed that 304 kanals in Mirgund village of Baramulla district, 403 kanals in 4 Villages of Pulwama district, 3967 kanals in 41 villages of Budgam, 2341 kanals in 11 villages of Ganderbal and 409 kanals in Rambirgarh village of Srinagar district, besides Dangerpora village of Bandipora came under this vital road project. The project has been developed under PMDP Scheme.

Baseer Khan directed all concerned Deputy Commissioners to sort out all matters including land acquisition forthwith so that the work on this vital road project is started.  The Div Com urged the officers of NHAI to work with zeal and synergy with Deputy Commissioners of concerned districts so that the bottlenecks, if any, are removed.

Deputy Commissioner Pulwama informed that the demarcation of 1400 kanals of land is already completed for AIIMS project under PMDP scheme.

Div Com emphasized the need for expediting work on this prestigious project and urged the officers to ensure that concerned departments carry out works within the stipulated timeframe.

He also directed Deputy Commissioner Pulwama to clean all drains along the national highway and clear the encroachments near the National Highway.

Khan directed BRO Engineers to remove all bottlenecks of road projects in Ganderbal, Baramulla, Leh and Kargil districts so that these important roads will be thrown open for the public immediately.
