Ramban: District Development Commissioner, Tariq Hussain Ganai, Friday inaugurated a day-long Workshop cum Orientation Program on GST here Friday.
The program was organized by Commercial Taxes Department in collaboration with NIC Ramban.
During the program, Assistant commissioner Sales Tax, Rajesh Gupta, ACR Ramban, Vivek Puri, DIO NIC, Sarabjeet Singh, representatives of various trade associations, contractors, shopkeepers, DDOs and sectoral officers concerned with commercial tax activities participated in the program.
Deputy Commissioner Commercial Taxes, Ashish Gupta, while delivering the inaugural address on GST and its scope, said the GST will be beneficial for both businessmen and the consumer.
DDC said district administration will provide every possible help to tax payer for his smooth enrolment to GST. He said district administration will support the commercial taxes department to organize informative and awareness programs on GST in other towns and remote areas of district also.
DDC said GST will eliminate the compounding effects of multi-layered tax system. There will be absolutely no problem to common people and small traders or big industrialists. One of the major benefits of GST is that it will ensure transparency in the entire taxation system.
A full question answer session was held under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Commercial Taxes Department and the team members of commercial taxes office.
