KCSDS concerned about the application of central statistics Act 2008 to J&K

Srinagar: Kashmir Centre for Social and Development Studies (KCSDS) has strongly condemned the application of central statistics Act 2008 to the state of J&K in utter disregard to the state legislature and provisions of article 370.
Coming close on the heels of GST Act , it is another major attack on article 370 whereby Government of India will control all statistical data and further disempower the state. It is now clear that the application of this new law is a precursor to clandestine and imperceptible change of demography of the State by settling ex-army-men and others non state subjects near the borders.
PDP is shamelessly and brazenly violating the sacred trust and rights of people by lending a total helping hand to BJP/RSS in achieving their nefarious designs to utter disregard of the power of state legislature and whatever remains of article 370.We demand that state legislature must demand its right to examine the law critically and oppose its extension to the state vehemently. For the sake of petty puppet role of power, PDP has given away all the remnants of sovereignty that remained with us and people will never forgive them for this. As if military killing and destroy operations were not enough to strangulate Kashmiris that it lend its tacit consent and went on a spree of destroying all legal safeguards of the state. What they could not accomplish by violence and chicanery they would accomplish by stealth. We will never let that happen.
We will educate people about the implications of this act in coming days.
“KCSDS is also deeply concerned and anguished by the decision of Indian military tribunal to bail out the army personnel convicted for killing innocent persons in the Machil fake encounter case. It appeals the UN, human rights organisations & international community to take a deep look at the case and other hundreds of such cases where Indian security agencies are purposely committing crimes against humanity with impunity.”
