Shutdown in Kulgam areas against thrashing of militant’s family members

Srinagar/July,27: A complete shutdown is being observed in Qaimoh and Khudwani areas of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district today against alleged thrashing of family members of Hizb militant Tawseef Ahmad Sheikh during a night nocturnal raid.

The family members alleged that government forces resorted to shelling in Rampora village of Qaimoh before barging inside their house around 3am.

“They smashed the windowpanes, thrashed men, women and kids during the raid,” alleged a family member. “They didn’t even spare a baby”.

To protest the alleged high-handedness of the forces, a complete shutdown is being observed in the area. All shops and other business establishments are closed.
