JK Bank Chairman inaugurates new premises, ATM at B B Cant

J&K Bank Chairman and CEO Parvez Ahmed made these remarks Thursday after inaugurating the new premises of its Badami Bagh Cantonment Business Unit in presence of Executive Presidents Vagesh Chander and S S Sehgal, President P K Tickoo, Landlord Amit Amla and a gathering of bank’s valuable customers, senior citizens and local businessmen. Zonal Head Kashmir (Central) Manzoor Hussain, Vice-Presidents Arvind Gupta, Rakesh Gandotra and Syed Rais Maqbool, Cluster Heads, Head Business Unit, officers of the bank were also present at the event. Chairman also commissioned an onsite ATM on the occasion.
Housed in the famous Broadway Cinema of yore and leveraging on the important spot, the new premises is spacious and suitably designed for the convenience of customers especially senior citizens besides meeting the requirements of the business unit. Branded and built in line with bank’s architectural focus on local heritage, the business unit has got state-of-the-art infrastructure to meet the demands of new age banking products and services.
“This branch is now one of the best branches in the city and matches the highest standards in the country. We dedicate this state of the art business unit to your loyalty with this institution. Your commitment as the most loyal customers of this bank has resulted in such a marvelous evolution of this bank,” he said.
“we are committed as the management of this bank to create best possible banking infrastructure and facilities at your doorstep,” he said.
After the inauguration, Chairman interacted with the customers present on the occasion.
Expressing his heartfelt joy, he said, “It is because of the dedicated loyalty of our valuable customers that has catapulted the bank into current level of prominence, where it is considered as one of the best financial institutions among its peer group within the country. And I am delighted to be here today on this inaugural ceremony amid such distinguished gathering of valuable customers.”
“Although this institution has seen various ups and downs but throughout its journey it has risen taller after every fall because of the unflinching support and devotional attachment of its customers like you”.
J&K Bank has been playing a huge role in socio-economic transformation of the state besides providing employment opportunities, conserving eco-cultural heritage and caring for the weak, vulnerable and deserving through CSR programmes.
“Today I am here to receive your valued inputs so that we can fill the gaps, if any, and improve further to make your interface with the bank as comfortable as we can”, he asserted.
During the interactive session, customers put forward their views regarding the work culture and history of the institution. A few customers also put forth their suggestions and requested the bank to develop a joggers’ park, install more ATMs and have separate counter for senior citizens in the area.
Chairman listened keenly to the remarks, comments and suggestions made by the customers and assured them of complete support from the bank. He assured proper seating arrangement for senior citizens at ATM locations, besides a senior citizens counter at the branch. The chairman also said that the bank would be looking for appropriate space for e-lobby where customers on the way can conduct digital transactions at their convenience without actually coming to the branch.
The chairman further said: “The bank shall be exploring possibility of developing a joggers track in the area on the bank of Jhelum. We shall also be expanding our ATM network in the area.
The audience was all praises for the services delivered by the business unit. “Although I am not a customer of J&K bank, but we identify ourselves with this institution. I have been associated with the bank in some other capacity and have seen it passing through difficult times. This institution has stood-up to every challenge that has come its way and succeeded”, said Rafiq Masoodi, former Director Doordarshan Srinagar.
Kifayat Haider, Ex-IG Traffic Police, a customer of J&K bank said, “Many a times worked up due to some reasons, I entered this branch in a fighting mood but the way the staff pacified me was always amazing. You have got wonderful people working here. But I suggest that new entrants in the bank need to be trained in customer relations, so that this legacy of customer satisfaction continues.”
“I suggest that there should be an improvement in services catering to senior citizens and also a seating arrangement be made outside ATM’s for customer convenience”, suggested senior citizen Dr Shafeeqa Tanki.
Landlord Amit Amla thanked the bank management for choosing the famous Broadway building for the business unit premises. He said, “With times, products and partnerships change. And today I feel happy that J&K Bank, the peoples’ bank, has started functioning here.”
Meanwhile, transacting on the occasion, a senior citizen Farida Begum who had come to open a recurring account said, “I am the first one to deposit ten thousand rupees here, I am also opening a new recurring account today. A very good feeling permeates throughout the branch with proper seating arrangement that makes aged like me more comfortable.”
“As this branch of J&K Bank is equipped with all the modern banking facilities and is quite spacious it will be a lot easier for customers to avail hassle free services especially during peak business hours. It is also very neat and welcoming”, said Javed Ahmad Rather, a customer from Batwara.
In the end, Head Business Unit B B Cantt presented Vote of Thanks and assured the audience that the staff posted there will try to meet the customers’ expectations and serve the clients to the best of their abilities.
