Kishtwar: An awareness program on Goods and Service Tax (GST) was organised by Commercial Taxes Department here Wednesday at DC office complex.
The awareness program followed by questions answer session aimed at creating awareness about the newly implemented GST Act was attended by traders, Contractors, Shopkeepers and DDOs of various departments. DDC Kishtwar Ghulam Nahi Balwan chaired the program.
The DC Excise and Taxation and Commercial Taxes Officer were the resource persons. They clarified and replied to the queries raised by the participants.
Chief Executive Officer Kishtwar Development Authority (KDA) also Nodal Officer GST, Pawan Parihar and the resource persons threw light on the GST model like DDOs registration, cancellation of Registration, filling of returns, submission of return, Mode of TDS payment, issues of TDS certificate, penalty, interest, digital signature and other related subjects.
The participants were informed that the Registration of DDOs shall start from July 27, 2017 and for any queries and clarifications stakeholders can login on www.gst.gov.inportal. It was further informed that NIC Kishtwar will act as facilitation centre for GST related works.
