Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan Wednesday visited Parimpora, Batamaloo and Panthachowk bus stands for traffic decongestion measures in the city.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, IGP Traffic, SSP Traffic, SSP, VC SDA, RTO Kashmir, DGM JKSRTC and other concerned officers were accompanied the Divisional Commissioner.
RTO Kashmir informed that the Shifting Process of Batamaloo Bus stand to Parimpora has already taken which will help to decongest the traffic in the city.
Div Com directed SDA to construct passenger sheds and announcement hall in the new Parimpora bus stand.
He directed Police that no outside vehicle should ply in this premises of new Parimpora bus stand and violators will be dealt strictly as per the law.
Divisional Commissioner inspected the shifting process of vehicles in Batamaloo Bus stand and directed the officers to speed up the shifting process and complete it within the stipulated time frame.
Later, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir visited Panthachowk Bus stand and review the traffic decongestion measures.
VC SDA informed that 16 kanals of adjacent land is developed for temporary Truck terminal that will accommodate approximately 200 trucks.
Div Com directed SDA to start the work on this project from tomorrow and also construct barrier gates in the entry and exit points of the terminal.
He also directed Police to ensure that trucks should not be parked on the highway and violators should be dealt strictly as per the law.
