Srinagar: Despite high tension at Line of Control (LoC) between India and Pakistan, 53 fresh guests from Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PaK) arrived here Monday though no Kashmiri crossed over to the other side in Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad.
However, the weekly cross-LoC bus service between Poonch in Jammu region and Rawalakote in PaK remained suspended for the third successive week Monday.
As many as 29 returnees also crossed sides at Kaman Post, the last Indian military post on this side of the LoC in Uri sector, official sources said.
The sources said 53 resident of PaK, including 17 women and 10 children, arrived at Kaman Post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge, on foot to meet their relatives, separated in 1947 due to Partition.
Three Kashmiris, including two women, who had gone to PaK, also returned to their homes after completing stay on other side of the LoC.
However, no Kashmiri crossed over to other side.
They said 26 POK residents, including three women and two children, who had arrived here in previous buses returned to their homes after completing stay here.
The number of travelers crossing to PaK declines during the summer but increases in the winter. But, guests from other side increases during summer though declined in winter when the temperature goes below freezing point in Kashmir.
