Shutdown continues in parts of central Kashmir

Srinagar:  Shutdown continues for the second day today in parts of the central Kashmir district of Budgam, where a youth was killed in security force firing on July 21 during demonstrations after Friday prayers.

Meanwhile, the mobile internet service also remained suspended for the third day today to prevent spread any rumours in the parts of the Budgam.

Shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the roads in Beerwah and adjoining areas.

However, government offices, educational institutions and banks remained closed on account of holiday. A youth was killed when security forces opened fire to disperse demonstrators after Friday prayers at Beerwah.

Though there was no restrictions in part of the Budgam, additional security forces and state police personnel have been deployed in strength to prevent any law and order problem.
