Srinagar: President Auqaf Jamia Masjid, Anjuman-e-Nusrat-ul Islam, and patron of Darul Khair, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq who continues to be under house arrest chaired a meeting of the members of said organizations at his Nigeen residence, to deliberate upon the arbitrary notices being sent to these institutions by the NIA.

President and the members present expressed resentment and anguish at the frequent questioning of some members and representatives of these institutions by the sleuths of NIA at their makeshift office at Humhama, who have now been asked to submit records and other documents to them.
The members present condemned targeting and persecution of Jamia Masjid and Nusrat-ul-Islam, institutions that have been working since long time for religious, social and educational uplift meant of the people of Kashmir.
Members of Both the institutions reiterated that the Auqaf is a purely religious institutions looking into the affairs of Jamia Masjid while Anjuman-e-Nusrat-ul-Islam is a one oldest and most renowned educational institution of Kashmir, serving the people for more than 100 years .And it is because of the huge contribution of this institution, Kashmir saw many talented doctors, engineers, social activists, Bureaucrats scholars and even politicians emerge .They said that even the father of Chief Minister of J&K, Mehbooba Mufti, late Mufti Muhammad Sayeed was a pass out of the same institution.
The members said that it is obvious that the aim behind summoning the representatives of these institutions to harass them as also the family members of Mirwaiz family is to build pressure on the APHC chairman to stop advocating and suppress the people’s political aspirations and their just struggle. However, such vengeful ploys won’t deter the resolve of Mirwaiz, who has and will continue to talk about Kashmir issue and its resolution as per people’s aspirations.
The members decided that legal council will be sought in dealing with the notices. (KNS)
