Srinagar: Hurriyat(G) and Hurriyat (M) led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq respectively here on Saturday said the thrashing of cops by army men in Ganderbal district of central Kashmir should serve as eye-opener to officials proving “more loyal than the king” and it shows that even police is not spared.
A Spokesman of Hurriyat (G) said“It (thrashing) serves (as) an eye opener that even men in uniform are not secure and illustrates the grave situation the common civilians in the state are facing,” said a spokesman, in a statement.
“It serves a bitter lesson for those officials and officers who for medals & material gains behave as ‘more loyal than king’,” said the spokesman.
He said that army men treat all Kashmiris just like creatures in the name of national interest and don’t shy away from inflicting “every type of brutality.”
Hurriyat (M) chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq too expressed sadness over the beating up of policemen by army soldiers in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a tweet, Mirwaiz said that “even those who aid state oppression were not spared”.
“Sad to hear about the severe beating of Kashmiri policemen by army by virtue of being Kashmiri even those who aid state oppression not spared!” he tweeted.
