Kabull: At least 14 people were killed when a bus veered off the road and overturned in Afghanistan’s northern Baghlan province today, an official said.
Twenty-six others were wounded, Mahmood Haqmal, a spokesman for the Baghlan governor, told DPA. The bus was travelling from the capital Kabul to northern Mazar province, Haqmal said, adding that an investigation into the crash has been launched.
Traffic accidents are common in Afghanistan, where traffic rules are seldom enforced and roads are often in bad condition.
