Srinagar/July,21: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chief Yasin Malik was Friday afternoon detained near Buchwara Jamia Masjid where he tried to take out a protest march to UN office at Sonwarin uptown Srinagar.Malik offered Friday’s congregational prayers at Jamia Masjid Buchwara in uptown Srinagar.
Witnesses said that polic contingents detained Malik after he came out of Buchwara Jamia Masjid after offering congregational Friday prayers.
Malik had gone into hiding to prevent his arrest since Thursday morning and Thursday evening police had raided his Abi Guzar office to arrest him.
Joint Resistance Leadership had called for a march to the UN office today to stage a peaceful sit-in against the recent civilian killings and rights violations in Kashmir after the congregational Friday afternoon prayers
