DDC reviews performance under CAPEX

Samba: District Development Commissioner, Sheetal Nanda, Wednesday reviewed progress under Capex budget and centrally sponsored schemes during first quarter of FY 2017-18.

ADDC Vivek Sharma, ACD Sushil Kumar Attri , DSEO K.K Khajuria, Xen’s , BDO’s and district officers were present at the meeting.

The DDC stressed on third party monitoring of projects and asked officials to ensure that requisite agencies are involved in each phase of project. She directed CEO Samba to make sure that payments due under Mid Day meal scheme are made regularly and wages of support staff are not held back. She asked Rural Development Department officials to disburse payment of works in proportion to their execution and do not wait till completion of the project. She also directed BDO’s to correctly project data pertaining to physical and financial completion of projects. The Departments have reported 39% target achievement during the first quarter.

Earlier in a meeting, District level coordination committee for centrally sponsored scheme ‘’Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH)” approved the Action plan for Horticulture sector under centrally sponsored scheme ‘’Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) for the financial year 2017-2018 for an outlay of Rs. 57.17 lakh. The production and productivity improvement of fruit crops, up gradation of nursery gardens, rejuvenation of old and senile Horticulture plantation, creation of water sources, etc. are the major components of mission being taken up during current year in Horticulture sector.

The DDC impressed upon Chief Horticulture Officer, C.L Sharma to achieve targets in total in the best interest of the farming community.

The District Development Commissioner reviewed the achievements for the year 2016-2017 and directed to achieve the desired objectives of the mission for the benefit of the orchardists.
