Srinagar: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) and Information Department Choudhary Zulfkar Ali Tuesday directed the concerned to hold three-day Aadhaar seeding camp from July 25 to accelerate the seeding of ration cards in the State.

Expressing his concern over the current pace of the seeding, the Minister said the Aadhaar seeding of ration cards should be taken on a mission mode so that the process is completed at an earliest.

Maintaining a proactive approach of work, the Minister said instead of waiting for people to come to the department, the department should reach to them and holding Aadhaar seeding camps in their respective districts is a step in the direction.

For the three- day- camp starting from July 25th to July 28, the Minister directed that every day three districts across the State should be covered in the camps. He also directed to have a dedicated team of officers who will ensure that the work is carried out smoothly.

During the meeting, the Minister also reiterated the Government’s resolve for achieving maximum transparency in the functioning of its departments. Expressing his dismay for receiving negative reports regarding working of some employees, the Minster informed that he is getting inputs that a small chunk of employees in the department with their nefarious designs are creating hurdles to prevent the department from achieving cent percent transparency in its functioning.

The Minister however, assured that any such attempt would not be tolerated and would be dealt sternly. He urged upon the concerned officers to ensure that such reprehensible people are identified and weeded out from the department immediately.

During the meeting, the Minister was informed that the department’s grievance portal is working efficiently as only three and two complaints from Kashmir and Jammu division respectively are presently waiting for their disposal.

Appreciating its employees for the commendable work, the Minister said FCS&CA is directly connected with people and the aim of creating the portal was to hear the problems of its consumers and address them immediately. By keeping number of grievances to bare minimum, the department is serving the purpose of establishing the portal. He hoped the department would continue with its admirable work and its other wings would try to inherit the similar kind of efficiency in their work.

The meeting was informed that both Jammu and Kashmir divisions, except for a few districts, have almost completed the recruitment of data entry operators. The Minister directed that the recruitment process should be completed by the end of this week so that the work for which they are hired is started immediately.

Secretary FCS&CA Shafiq Raina, Director FCS&CA Jammu R A Inquilabi, Director FCS&CA Kashmir Nissar Ahmad Wani, were present in the meeting.
