Kupwara Police Rescued 04 Boys Before They Could Join Militancy

Kupwara: Continuing with the efforts of J&K Police in preventing the youth from joining the militancy, Kupwara Police has rescued 8 minor boys who were ready to join the militant groups during the last one month. During last month, 04 boys of village Gulgam were rescued who were trying to cross the LoC for joining militant groups. They were intercepted by a Police party deputed for the purpose near LoC and were brought back to Police Station Kupwara. These boys were handed over to their parents after proper counselling. During last week 04 boys have been prevented from joining the militant groups by timely intervention of district Police Kupwara. These boys have been identified as, Hilal Ahmad Fafoo (18) S/O Abdul Rashid Fatoo R/O Sheeri Baramulla A/P Bumhama Kupwara, Firdous Ahmad Bhat (19) S/O Lal Mohammad R/O Bumhama Kupwara, Touseef Ahmad Shah (16) S/O Maqsood Ahmad R/O Shatmuqam Lolab and Ahteram-ul-Haq Shah (16) S/O Abdul Ahad Shah R/O Shatmuqam Lolab.
After receiving the information about their fleeing from their homes, police parties were sent to different locations as per information generated based on their mobile towers locations. The parents of the missing boys and their relatives were also involved who have also played the positive role for their motivation and providing timely information with regard to their contact numbers , other details. During the swift operation, 02 boys from Shatmuqam Lolab were intercepted from Pulwama area who were heading toward Tral and other 02 boys hailing from Bumhama were intercepted from Vodhpora area who were also planning to move toward Shopian area. During their sustained interrogations, all the 04 boys have confessed that they were going to join the militant ranks as they are being reprimanded by their parents owing to various reasons including poor in studies besides they also fed up with life style at home due to poverty. All the rescued boys have been properly counselled and motivated for their re-union with tThe parents of the missing boys and common citizens have eulogized the role of Kupwara Police for timely tracing the missing boys before their joining to militant ranks as this trend has stopped in this frontier district over the years.
