Jammu: The BSF and Pakistani Rangers today discussed firing and border issues at a flag meet held on international border in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“On Pakistan Ranger’s request, from 1100 hrs to 1200 hrs, a Commandant-Wing Commander level Flag Meeting was held between Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers on International Boundary in Samba area,” the official spokesperson here said.
He said that during the meeting, Commanders of both the border guarding forces, inter alia, discussed various issues, including recent unprovoked firing, in Samba Sector and other routine issues related to border management.
“It was decided to re-energize instant communication between field commanders, whenever required, to resolve the petty matters,” he said.
The spokesperson said that meeting was held in a cordial, positive and constructive atmosphere and both sides agreed for expeditious implementation of the decisions taken in the earlier meeting and committed to each other to maintain peace and tranquility at International Border.
