New Delhi: Two days after the militant attack on Amarnath pilgrims which left seven pilgrims dead, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi today attacked the Narendra Modi government for its policy on Jammu and Kashmir, saying that the PM’s policies had created a space for militants in the state. Charging Mr Modi with forming a government with PDP in the state for ‘short term political gains’, Mr Gandhi, in a series of tweets, said the short term political gain for Mr Modi from the PDP alliance had cost India massively. ‘Modi’s policies have created space for militants in Kashmir. Grave strategic blow for India. Short term political gain for Modi from PDP alliance has cost India massively,’ he tweeted. The Congress leader said the personal gains for Mr Modi had come at the cost of a strategic loss for India and sacrifices of ‘Innocent Indian blood’. ‘Modi’s personal gain= India’s strategic loss + sacrifice of innocent Indian blood,’ he said in the tweet. Mr Gandhi had earlier slammed the government after the militant attack on Amarnath pilgrims, saying that it was a “grave & unacceptable security lapse” and that the PM needed to accept responsibility and never allow it to happen again. Seven people, including six women pilgrims, were killed when militants attacked a bus carrying Amarnath pilgrims in Anantnag district on Monday.
