Darhal: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and Information, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali Tuesday inaugurated a number of tourism projects in Darhal area including Wayside Amenity at Budhkhanari and laid the foundation stone for 8 KM long trekking path from Budhkhanari to Shakarmarg.
The Trekking Path would be constructed at a cost of Rs. 35.50 lakh.
While speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the area has great potential for tourism owing to high pasturelands, lush green fields and Seven Lakes located towards higher reaches of Pir Panjal.
He further added the various measures are underway to bring the district on the tourism map for which Rs. 5. 98crore projects including Trekking Paths, Cafeteria, View Points, Public Conveniences, and Landscaping would be executed in tehsil Darhal alone.
Earlier, Chowdhary Zulfkar also laid foundation stone of Water Supply Scheme Kurhad Mal. The District Development Commissioner Rajouri Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary informed the Minister that scheme would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 145 lakh. It was further given out that once completed; this WSS would provide clean drinking water to 5774 souls.
The Minister was accompanied by Director FCS & CA R. A. Inqalabi, Exen PDD and other concerned officers.
