Altaf Bukhari asks School Education, Higher Education Deptts to work hand-in-hand

SRINAGAR: Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today directed the School Education department and Higher Education department to work hand in hand for the betterment of education scenario in Jammu and Kashmir.
“With the aim of ‘One Mission One Department’, School Education Department and Higher Education Department should work together and exchange the ideas and suggestions with each other to strengthen the education department as a whole,” He said.
He made these remarks while chairing a high level meeting of officers to review the functioning of School Education and Higher Education departments and to highlight different issues.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Education, Priya Sethi; Commissioner Secretary Higher Education, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon; Secretary School Education, Farooq Ahmed Shah; Directors of SSA, RMSA, RUSA, Director Colleges (Kashmir), Financial Advisor and other concerned officers.
On the occasion, Bukhari directed the department to start e-File Tracking System so that one can know about the status of the file that will be under process. “All the necessary help to start File Tracking System will be provided and we need to do it on fast track basis,” he said.
The Minister said that Education Department has lot of responsibilities towards the society. “We need to treat well both the students as well as teachers for the better functioning of education department,” He added.
He said that the officials who have served the department from a long time should help with their suggestions in policy making of the department.
On the occasion different issues regarding the smooth functioning of departments were discussed at length and officials were directed to expedite in different undergoing projects.
The minister was informed that all the vacant posts of ZEOs, CEOs and Head Masters have been identified and will be filled in two weeks time.
The discussion was also made on the filling up of various vacant posts in the department, status of pending SRO-43 cases, rationalization of teaching staff and the budget and expenditure under different schemes were discussed threadbare.
