Srinagar/July,11:National Conference President and former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday apologised to Indian people for Anantnag attack that left seven Amarnath pilgrims dead in Botengoo village last night.
Talking to reporters in Srinagar, Abdullah hit out at the government for “failing” to secure the pilgrims. He said the attack was not carried out by the Muslims. “Because a terrorist can’t be a Muslim,” he said.
Abdullah said Kashmiri people want more and more pilgrims to come here and have ‘darshan’. “Despite the attack, yatris will continue to come here as we have freedom of religion here,” he said.
Abdullah cautioned against the rising incident sof communalism in India. “Comunalism will eat all of us,” he cautioned. Former Union Minister said that Kashmir bandh should have been called to protest the killings of Amarnath yatris. “Bandh has been called in Jammu to mourn the deaths. Bandh should have been called in Kashmir too,” said Abdullah.
