Srinagar/ July,7: A woman was killed after a bus carrying Amarnath yatris turned turtle on Srinagar-Leh highway in Rezan area of Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, police said.
An official said that a bus, bearing registration number JK02 AW-3186, hit a woman and her daughter before turning turtle on the highway.
He said the woman, identified as Zaitoon Begum, wife of Abdul Qayoom, resident of Rezan, died on the spot. Her daughter Ulfat Jan was injured in the accident.
The official said that two yarris were also injured in the mishap.
They were identified as Mahesh Saba and Suraj. Both are residents of Maharashtra.
THe injured, he said, were shifted to PHC Kullan where from one of the seriously injured was referred to Sub-district Hospital Kangan for further treatment.
