Dy CM dedicates renovated Town Hall to public; inaugurates teceiving station at Majouri

Udhampur: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh, Thursday dedicated renovated Town hall to people of Ramnagar besides inaugurating  33/11 KV, 3.15 MVA Receiving (Grid) station at Majouri established with a cost of Rs.274 lakh.

Vice Chairman, J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Kisans Daljit Singh Chib, MLA Ramnagar Ranbir Singh Pathania , DDC Niraj Kumar, Director Urban Local Bodies Jammu Arun Kumar besides other senior officers were present on the occasion.

While congratulating the people of the area for the facility, the Dy CM saidthe town hall would be of great help to poor and could act as a venue for various functions. He also announced an amount of Rs. 32 lakh for construction of a shed at the land in front of the hall.

Regarding preparation of Master plan for Ramnagar, Dr. Singh said the work on the formulation of this vital document for the town would soon be initiated. He informed that there is a fixed criterion for bringing an area under the Town Area Committee or Municipality and directed the concerned to send a proposal for Majalta and Basantgarh in this regard.

The Dy CM emphasized on ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ and saidunder this scheme the present Government is constantly working towards making every town Open Defecation Free. While the central government gives an assistance of Rs 4000 to every household for construction of the toilet, the state government has decided to provide an additional assistance of Rs 13500 so as to ensure that every household has a toilet, Dr Singh added. He saidas per the survey, a total of 406 toilets are to be constructed in Ramnagar town  and directed the EO to expedite the pace of work.

The Dy CM further announced Rs 15 lakh for construction of lanes and drains in the town and stressed on self financing of the Bus stand area keeping in view its crucial location in the town.

While appreciating the scenic beauty of Seoj Dhar, Dudu and Basantgarh, Dr. Singh assured that these beautiful areas would soon be developed as tourist spots and directed the concerned to send a detailed report in this regard so that the matter could be taken up with the concerned.

The Deputy Chief Minister, while addressing people after inaugurating Grid station at Majouri, saidwith this vital facility in the area the people would get adequate power supply. He added that the Government is also providing Rs 1 crore to every constituency for the electric poles and wires.

The station would benefit a population of various villages including Majouri, Chatrari, Kiya Kaitha, Balota, ChiglaBalota, Arthal, Gandhtop, Siamerri and adjoining parts.

Highlighting various schemes of central government, the Dy CM saidschemes like Kissan Fasal Beema Yojna, Jan Dhan Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna , Digital India are doing well in providing a soothing respite to the people. He directed the Deputy Commissioner to organise awareness camps on regular basis for generating awareness among the people about these schemes.

Among others, SSP Rayees Bhat, ADDC Arvind Sharma, Chief Engineer EM&RE wing Jammu Ashwani Gupta, SE Sanjeev Kailoo, ACR Subhash Dogra, ACD Om Prakash, CEO J. R Bhardwaj besides other district officers were present on the occasion.

Later, the Dy CM held a public grievances redressal camp at Chhtrari in which people of the area put forth their demands like bringing the area on the tourist map, augmentation of power supply, shortage of  teaching staff in Government Schools,  dilapidated condition of roads etc.

The Dy CM assured the people that all these issues would be taken up with the concerned for an early redressal.
