Srinagar: Government forces Friday burst teargas shells at some places in the valley to disperse demonstrators, protesting against killing of a youth Thursday this week in south Kashmir.
Hundreds of protests took to streets at main Hajin chowk in north Kashmir district of Bandipora after Friday prayers were over to protest the killing of 22-year-old Touseef Ahmad Wani in security force firing in Pulwama yesterday.
However, security forces deployed in the area swung into action and burst teargas shells to disperse the demonstrators, who were pelting stones.
Meanwhile, massive clashes also erupted after Friday prayers were over in mosques at various places in south Kashmir district of Anantnag.
Demanding action security personnel responsible for the killing of the youth, hundreds of protestors took to the streets at Lal Chowk in Anantnag after Friday prayers.
But, when the agitators tried to take out a protest march, security forces deployed in the area burst teargas shells to disperse the stone pelting protestors.
Similar clashes were reports from some other parts of south Kashmir, including Mattan Adda and Reshi Bazar.
Three LeT militants were killed in an encounter with security forces early yesterday morning at Kakpora in Pulwama. A 22-year-old youth, Touseef Ahmad Wani, was killed in the subsequent cashes when security forces fired pellets and burst teargas shells to disperse the demonstrators at Kakpora.
