Srinagar: Abdul Majeed Dar Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Pulwama passed away after protracted illness on Friday at Jagarpora Handwara.
He was suffering from lung cancer and was under regress treatment of top doctors at the Tata memorial institute Mumbai.
Dar a resident of Jagarpora Handwara was a distinguished judge and held many prestigious positions in the middle rungs of State judiciary.
His death has been widely mourned by legal fraternity and civil society.
Members of Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Kupwara Bar Association, Handwara Bar Association, Deputy Commsioner Kupwara, SSP Kupwara and SSP Handwara participated in the funeral prayers of the deceased at Jagarpora Handwara, his ancestral place of residence.
Local news gathering agency KNS has also condoled the death of CJM Abdul Majeed Dar and sympathised the bereaved family.
