Jammu: Viraj Kala Kendra in collaboration with Department of Information and Public Relations organized a Kavi Samelan on the eve of International Yoga Day in which Speaker Legislative Assembly; Kavinder Gupta was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta said such events provide a conducive platform for exchange of creative and literary ideals.
He appreciated the Information department and Viraj Kala Kendra for holding such events which immensely help the expert and budding artists to further enhance their literary skills besides preserving the cultural heritage.
Highlighting the importance of Yoga in keeping the mind and body healthy, he said it is the biggest contribution of our country to the world which is being acknowledged by celebrating the International Yoga Day. He appreciated the poets who presented their poems and called for organizing more such events to create awareness about vital social issues
Prominent social activist, Professor Rita Jitender, while elaborating on the significance of Yoga in our lives, said this physical exercise is essential for a healthy and balanced life. She emphasized upon the need of regular yoga to ease our stressful lives of present day.
