Srinagar/ June,21: Two militants were killed in a gunfight with government forces in Pazalpora area of Rafiabad in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district .
A police official said that gunfight erupted late Tuesday night after police, army and CRPF cordoned off the area. Police had received inputs about the presence of militants in the village, the official said.
He said that the militants opened fire on the search party. “The fire was retaliated, triggering an encounter.” .
The official said that both the militants belonging to Hizb-ul-Mujahideen outfit were killed during the operation. The slain militants were identified as Gulzar Ahmad of Brath Kalan Sopore and Basit Ahmad from Andergam Pattan.
