Lucknow: Entertainment department will soon be merged in to Good Service Tax department from July 1. All employees of entertainment tax will be shifted to GST department. Entertainment Tax Commissioner Shradha Mishra told UNI that it is still have to work out on how employees of the department will be transferred to GST department. Entertainment tax department earns maximum revenue from movie theatres, cable networks and DTH service providers. From July 1, all revenue collected by the department will be under GST. Apart from entertainment tax department, service, central excise will be under GST. Uttar Pradesh entertainment tax department collects revenue of Rs 700 crore per annum.
