New Delhi: Putting at rest all speculations of possible delay in the roll out of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime, the Government today announced that all was set for the roll out of indirect tax regime from July 1, and its official launch will take place on the night of June 30.
Announcing this here after the 17th meeting of the GST Council, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that a function will be organised in the national capital on the mid night of June 30 to roll out the transforming indirect tax reforms.
‘We don’t have luxury of time to defer GST anymore,’ the Finance Minister said .
Tax Rates of almost all the items have been decided.
It was clarified today that hotel room costing Rs 1800 to Rs 7500 will attract a tax rate of 18 per cent while rooms above Rs 7500 will invite a tax of 28 per cent.
