Resistance leaders call for shutdown today

Srinagar: Resistance leadership called complete shutdown on Saturday 18th against civilian killings, ransacking of properties and force’s arrogance.
Terming forces action as state sponsored terrorism, Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik in a joint statement said that forces have virtually declared war on civilians and feel free to kill and went on rampage. They are not accountable for their wrongdoings, said leadership and blamed authorities for creating mayhem.
Blaming state administration, the leadership said that they have vested unbridled powers in forces.
Joint leadership expressed deep grief over the killing of Ashtangoo youth Nazir Ahmad in Ranghreth area in Srinagar & a civilian in Arwani Kulgam by forces and said that it was a target killing.
Blaming SSB personnel, the leadership said that protestors in Ranghreth, peacefully dispersed after forces resorted to tear gas shelling, however SSB personnel at point blank range and deliberately killed, said youth.
In a joint statement to KNS, they strongly condemned vandalizing private vehicles and ransacking houses and business establishments and said that it illustrates sheer vengeance and vandalizing and looting business establishment is unjustified as they were not part of any protest.
Geelani, Mirwaiz and Malik said that after the recent statement of army chief Bipin Rawat, forces have been vested with unbridled powers and they feel free to go any extent.
They are treating state as a hunting ground and killing whosoever comes in their way, said leadership.
They said that it has turned now routine for forces and they go rampant for killing innocents and destroying properties.
Blaming Indian leadership, joint leadership said that on one hand Indian forces while crossing all limits are killing people and destroying properties and on the other, Indian leadership including Rajnath Singh Ram Madhu and Amit Shah are adding fuel to fire and according to their’’ fanatical dogma, the believe that every Kashmiri is an enemy and deserve death.’’
We have only two options, said eldership and added either we have to surrender and accept their hegemony or live like brave hearts, prefer martyrdom and pursue our mission with persistence and commitment.
Blaming State authorities for choking political space for peaceful activities and while reiterating their appeal for shutdown, Geelani, Mirwaiz and Malik said that it is not just for a fun but we are left with no option other than to resent and raise our voice against killing spree and state sponsored terrorism.
