Srinagar/June,16: Clashes erupted after government forces cordoned Arwani village in Kulgam district in south Kashmir ans started massive searches on Friday morning.
Reports said that Army and SOG sleuths cordoned off the village after inputs about the presence of militants Friday morning.
However, people took to streets and staged massive protests to help the militants flee from the cordoned area.
Reports said that thousands of people from the adjoining villages of Redwani, Qaimoh and Khudwani are trying to march towards the Arwani village where three militants are believed to be trapped inside the cordon.
Pubic address systems of mosques are being used to exhort people to help the militants flee from the cordoned area.
