Srinagar/June,14: Two internationally renowned Islamic Scholars of Al-Azhar University Egypt Wednesday visited the shrine of Syed Yaqoob Sahab (RA) at Sonawar and joined special prayers there.
The visiting scholars were headed by President of AIRLA and Founder FAAMC, Maulana Peer Syed Shabir Naqshbandi besides Mohammad Ahmed Muhammad Abed-Hafez and Muhammed Samir Muhammed Elabsewy.
The visiting scholars offered Asr prayers at the Jamia Masjid Sonwar. The scholars later offered special prayers for peace and prosperity of the Muslim Ummah in general and the J&K state in particular.
Vice Chairman JK Waqaf Board Peer Mohammad Hussain earlier welcomed the guests while former MLC Sheikh Ghulam Rasool, senior officials of Waqaf Board including Rafi Ahmad Bhat were also present on the occasion.
