Dir Horti(J) reviews implementation of flagship schemes

Jammu/June,13:Director Horticulture Jammu,  Bhawani Rakwal   conducted an extensive tour of Doda and Kishtwar districts to take stock of the various development works under flagship schemes of the department.

In the first phase of his tour, he inspected Model-orchard-cum-nursery Kotli, and Manager-cum-chemist office, Bhaderwah and checked various development works carried out under different centrally sponsored schemes and he also visited Panchayat Manthala, Bhaderwah.

Apart from this he also inspected development works at Atalgarh under PMDP, MIDH 2016-17 and motivated the farmers to avail maximum benefits under centrally sponsored schemes to uplift the economic status of the district. He directed the field functionaries to disseminate the best practices among the orchardists for better management and stressed on regular field visits to ensure the success of the plantation.

Director Horticulture also visited Kishtwar and reviewed ongoing development works of the department. He convened a meeting of all the officers and field staff of the district and directed them to work with dedication for the uplift of the farming community. He directed for preparation of the DPRs for Shalimar, Dool and Nowpachi Government Fruit Plant Nurseries. Later he visited Model-orchard-cum-nursery Damber, Chatroo and inspected   ongoing operations. He asked the nursery staff to remain punctual and directed for completion of pending works in the nursery. On the way back he inspected Govt. fruit plant nursery Khilani and directed to give maximum output from the nursery stock.

He was accompanied by Chief Horticulture Officer, Doda/Kishtwar   B.L.Pandita, Mushtaq Ahmed Wani I/C DLSMS Plant Pathology and all HDOs of the district.
