Srinagar/ June,8: Shopian town and its adjoining areas in south Kashmir remained shut on second consecutive day today to mourn the killing of a youth in firing by the government forces.
All shops and other business establishments are closed in the town and the adjacent areas.
Reports said that some shops opened early morning. However, they got closed after a stone-pelting incident.
Police and paramilitary forces have been deployed in the town to prevent any protests.
A college student, Adil Farooq Magray was killed in Ganawpora village of the district on Tuesday evening after forces opened fire to disperse protesters during a cordon and search operation.
