Pampore/June,3: The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Tuesday started Entrepreneurship Development Programs (EDPs) in six districts of the State under Himayat Self Employment Scheme for the unemployed youth.
The three-week training program started at Baramulla, Budgam, Kishtwar, Ramban, Rajouri and Samba in which more than 600 candidates both males and females shall be trained and imparted lessons on skill development, performance improvement as well as business cum sector specific and self-development training.
The EDPs are being conducted under Himayat Self Employment scheme being implemented by the Institute for the educated unemployed youth of the state in the age group of 18-35 years so as to enable them earn their livelihood. The trained candidates shall be provided financial linkage under Term Loan scheme of National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC).
After the training is over the candidates shall be certified to start their units in retail, services, manufacturing and agro-allied sectors. Three more EDPs shall start in Srinagar, Shopian and Udhampur from Wednesday.
EDPs (training) are part of the Institute’s ongoing process to reach out to every nook and corner of the state of Jammu and Kashmir and equip the unemployed youth with life sustainable business skills. The EDPs are generally aimed at providing lessons on skill development, performance improvement as well as business cum sector specific and self-development training to the participating youth.
