Srinagar, Jun 4: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) raids continued for the second day today in the Kashmir valley in connection with alleged illegal funding, official sources said.
“The Investigation agency has started raids at two places in Srinagar since early this morning,” sources said but did not divulge any further details.
The NIA carried out searches at 14 places, including at the residences of separatist leaders and businessmen, in Kashmir in connection with alleged illegal funding being received from ‘Pakistan terror group’ for carrying out subversive activities in the Valley.
Sources said a large amount of cash, documents and other material have been seized during the raids.
Subsequent raids in Kashmir, Delhi and Haryana and now in Jammu followed after questioning of three separatist Nayeem Khan, who was seen on television sting operation allegedly confessing to have been receiving money from Pakistan, Farooq Ahmed Dar alias ‘Bitta Karate’ and Gazi Javed Baba of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, also headed by Syed Ali Shah Geelani in the national capital last month.
