Srinagar/June,3: Prominent Kashmir businessman Mushtaq Ahmad Chaya on Saturday warned of legal action against New Delhi-based TV channels who he said were falsely reporting about a raid on his residence by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) that never took place.
“NIA team hasn’t raided my residence as some TV channels are reporting,” said Chaya, adding that the channels were spreading lies.
Chaya, who is Hoteliers’ club president, warned of legal action against these channels, saying that they were defaming him by false reporting.
NIA had earlier raided the residences of some separatist leaders and a businessman Zahoor Watali in Srinagar over alleged funding from Pakistan.
