Srinagar/June 2: Syed Ali Geelani continues to be under house arrest despite his ailing health and was barred from offering Friday congregational prayers. Spokesman Ayaz Akbar said that even ahead of Ramadan he was not allowed to move out or offer religious obligations   on Friday.
Syed Ali Geelani, who continues to be under house detention for past several years, was again stopped from offering Friday prayers by the police. It is unjustified and holds no ethical ground, added spokesman.
Resistance leaders are barred from performing religious obligations which is tantamount to interference in religious matters,” spokesman said.
Lashing out at puppet administration, spokesman said that their approach is biased and strongly criticizing Delhi authorities for their fanatical approach, added that they do not even follow their so-called secular theory and follow their stale and selective dogma for followers of other religion and faith.
On one hand Amarnath Yatries are being provided all facilities and administration utilizes all its resources to facilitate their pilgrimage and contrary to this resistance leadership is caged and Muslim communities reel under curfewed Ramadan and even restrictions are imposed on Eid and other religious festivals.
Spokesman strongly condemned the continuous house detention of Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, Ayaz Akbar and Mohammad Ashraf Laya.
Condemning the state administration for their ‘vengeful policy’ and aggressive approach against Syed Ali Geelani, spokesman said that they don’t even consider issues related to his health.
Spokesman expressed his dismay over the silence maintained by international agencies. It is of grave concern, said spokesman and in his appeal stressed these bodies for their cognizance.
