Jammu, Jun 1: One Civil General Reserved Engineering Force (GREF) labourer was killed while two others were injured as Pakistani Army resorted to heavy unprovoked firing at forward Indian posts on the Line of Control in Poonch and Rajouri districts of Jammu and Kashmir, today.
“One civil GREF labourer martyred, one GREF driver and one Head Constable of BSF received splinter injuries but out of danger in cross-border firing in Mendhar area of Poonch,” official sources here said.
‘Own troops are retaliating equally,’ the sources added.
Earlier during the day, Pakistani Army yet again violated the ceasefire agreement and fired unprovoked on the LoC in Rajouri district.
“Pakistani Army initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics, 82 mm and 120 mm mortars along the LoC in Nowshera sector and in Krishana Ghani sector at 0740 hrs,” a defence spokesman here said.
