Confused and confusion

Contradictory statements of BJP Chief Amit Shah, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Information & Broadcasting Minister Vankiah Naidu show their confusion over the prevailing situation in Kashmir. Out of confusion these top BJP leaders are trying to distort facts and hide the failures of the government in handling the situation in Kashmir for last more than ten months. While BJP Chief Amit Shah Chief says that Kashmir problem is confined to three valley district the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister contradicts him with the remark that Kashmir problem is confined to five valley districts. Similarly Home Minister Rajnath Singh commits to resolve Kashmir permanently through unconditional dialogue with all the stake holders including Hurriyat leadership but BJP Chief Amit Shah contradicts him with the remark that talks won’t be held with any one till kashmiris stop pelting stones on government forces. The contradictory statements of the highly responsible BJP men including ministers show that Modi government at the centre is confused over the situation in Kashmir and has no road map to resolve the crisis and restore peace in Kashmir. The Kashmir situation has not only posed huge challenges to police, army and paramilitaries trying to eliminate fresh breed of militants in Kashmir but rendered the mainstream political parties’ irrelevant to the extent of forcing the election commission to cancel by elections for Anantnag parliamentary constituency last month. No worsening law and order situation has cast its shadows on the academic work in schools, colleges and universities but the denial of political outreach to resolve the crisis is doubling the troubles of the government. Keeping in view the growing public outrage against repeated denials for any kind of political outreach in Jammu & Kashmir,  the Modi government has no option except to take some bold initiatives for political engagement with the joint separatist leadership and invoke some confidence building measures like release of political prisoners and youth detained during last ten months of unrest in different parts of Kashmir valley.

Since top BJP leaders including senior ministers of the Modi government are so much confused that they by making confusing statement confuse all stake holders in  Kashmir, it is for Prime Minister Modi to announce slew of measures for restoring the confidence of the people in the working of the government and justice delivery system in the state.

Denying outrightly poitical outreach and release of political prisoners is increasing the alienation across the length and breadth of Jammu & Kashmir state. It is for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to satisfy the political egos of the alienated people of Kashmir and announce some concession to both political prisoners and as well as youth detained during last ten months in different parts of Kashmir valley. Since top BJP leaders including senior ministers of the Modi government are so much confused that they by making confusing statement confuse all stake holders in  Kashmir, it is for Prime Minister Modi to announce slew of measures for restoring the confidence of the people in the working of the government and justice delivery system in the state.
