Div Com reviews Amarnath Yatra arrangements, Jammu Airport expansion

JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner, Dr Mandeep Kumar Bhandari today convened a meeting to review the arrangements being put in place for smooth conduct of annual Shri Amarnath Yatra.

IGP Jammu, S.D. Singh Jamwal, Deputy Commissioner    Samba Sheetal Nanda, DC  Udhampur Niraj Kumar DC Jammu Rajeev Ranjan  ,DC Kathua Ramesh Kumar, DC  Ramban Mohammad Aijaz, Director Information Dr. Arun Manhas, Commandant SDRF, S. Norboo, Additional Commissioner, Rehana Batool besides Concerned SSP’s and other officers attended the meeting.

The Divisional Commissioner asked the officers to ensure  that adequate arrangements  are made in time for the smooth conduct of yatra.

Div Com asked the officers to put in place effective response mechanism with well equipped control rooms for prompt redressal of issues. He stressed on successful disaster management mechanism with quick rescue teams to deal with any exigencies. He also asked them to conduct mock drills as well.

Later, the Divisional Commissioner reviewed progress on shifting of utilities to facilitate the execution of Jammu Airport expansion project.

The meeting was attended by IGP Jammu, Dr S.D Singh, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Rajeev Ranjan , SSP Dr Sunil Gupta , Chief Engineer Irrigation and Flood Control Rajeev Gandotra, besides senior officers of Air Force , R&B, PWD, and other concerned departments.

The Divisional Commissioner was apprised that works are apace for shifting of power utilities and concerned agencies are working in tandem to ensure time bound completion of works. It was also given out that the  alternate road connecting  Nikki Tawi being executed by R&B is expected to be completed soon .

Divisional Commissioner asked the agencies associated with the project to synchronize their working to remove the bottlenecks and ensure early completion of the prestigious project.
