“It (governemnt) is working towards a permanent solution on the issue,” the report quoted Singh as saying.

The Home Minister however refused to divulge the government’s strategy on the Kashmir issue.

The Home Minister refused to comment on Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh’s remark that Hurriyat should be banned.

He said that the Modi government wants to speak to all stakeholders vis-a-vis the Kashmir issue but asserted that “talks will be unconditional”.
