Islamabad/May,24: Pakistan Air Force Chief Marshal Sohail Aman on Wednesday issued a stern warning, saying that “our response to any Indian aggression will be remembered by their coming generations.” Meanwhile Indian Air Force on Wednesday denied claims by Pakistan Air Force that its fighter jets had flown over the Siachen glacier.
A media report in Pakistan said that the country’s air chief made the remark after visiting the Qadri Airbase in Skardu where war exercises by fighter jet squadrons are being held, reported Geo TV.
All forward operating bases of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) have been made operational in response to Indian ‘threats’, added the report.
“The nation should not worry about the enemy’s statements,” he said, adding that “we are peace loving people but are ready to face all kinds of challenges.”
Quoting Indian Express newspaper, the report said that on May 20, Indian Air Chief Marshal B S Dhanoa wrote a personal letter to each officer of the Indian Air Force (IAF), asking them to be prepared for operations, with the present scenario, at a very short notice.
The letter — signed and sent to the IAF officers on March 30 — covers a range of issues, especially those in the conflict-ridden state of Jammu and Kashmir, added the report.
Meanwhile the Indian Air Force on Wednesday denied claims by Pakistan Air Force that its fighter jets had flown over the Siachen glacier.
“There is no reported airspace violation,” sources in the Indian Air Force said in response to Pakistan’s claim of its fighter jets having flown over the glacier which is in India’s control.
Pakistani media reports said jet fighters of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) made flights near the Siachen glacier on Wednesday morning.
According to Samaa.tv, Chief of Air Staff Sohail Aman paid a visit to the forward airbase in Skardu and was accompanied by the top leadership of the Pakistan Air Force.
Siachen Glacier at an elevation of over 5,500 meters, is also called the world’s highest battlefield.
