New Delhi, May 24: The government will encourage private sector participation, under ‘Make in India’ programme, and ensure indigenous production of fighter aircraft, helicopters, submarines, armoured fighting vehicles and main battle tanks, Defence Minister Arun Jaitley said here today.
Briefing journalists after cabinet meeting, Mr Jaitley said the “cabinet was briefed” of the proposal of the Defence ministry on such a move.
