Srinagar/May,24: District Legal Services Authority Wednesday organized General Lok Adalat at District Court Complex Bemina under the Chairmanship of Principal District & Session Judge Srinagar, Rasheed Ali Dar.
The Lok Adalat comprising of seven benches took up 1149 cases for settlement, out of which 846 cases were decided amicably on spot.
An amount of Rs 2,97,97,080 was settled in all cases including an amount of Rs 2,85,00,000 which was settled in consumer claims by presiding officer District Consumer Protection Forum, Jeema Bashir.
An amount of Rs 7,62,000 was also awarded as compensation in three Motor Accidental Claims by presiding officer MACT Srinagar.
Meanwhile, in Pre Litigation Bank Matter, an amount of Rs 39,00,000 was settled, besides in various challans Rs. 1,45,080 was realized as fine.
