Srinagar/May,23: Scores of Kashmir University students on Tuesday held a protest demonstration in University campus demanding release of MERC student, Tahir Hussain Mir, who has been detained under Public Safety Act.
Reports said that a large number of students assembled in University premises and raised pro-freedom slogans. They sought the intervention of Vice Chancellor in ensuring the early release of Tahir.
A resident of Bandipora in northern part of Kashmir, Tahir, 24, was arrested in September 2016 for what police termed “disrupting law and order and stone pelting”. He was slapped with the draconian public safety act.
