Srinagar/May,20: Terming the sting operation’ conducted by the national TV channel as ‘fake and doctored’, senior Hurriyat (G) and Jammu and Kashmir National Front chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan Saturday dared the New Delhi based TV channel to make the entire un-doctored video public.
Addressing a presser here at his Jawahar Nagar office, the National Front chairman said that the TV channel has made doctored and fake video public. “I dare the TV channel to make the entire but un-doctored video public,” he said.
Saying that video run by the TV channel shows that Indian media is carrying out their jingoistic journalism, Nayeem said, “The video, which was mixed expressed the myopic and partial journalism of the national media.”
Alleging that the video, which was made public in “bits and pieces”, was the part of Indian media’s agenda of defaming the ongoing freedom movement, Nayeem said, “Indian media was making every bid to defame the Kashmir struggle and pro-freedom leadership. They are leaving no stone unturned to defame the movement and to create barriers between the people and the leadership.”
Khan also lashed out at particular TV channel for claiming that he was underground. “Was I underground,” he questioned. “I am answerable only to Kashmiri people, media and leadership,” he added.
“I had decided to put forth my point of view about the doctored videos in front of my chairman, Syed Ali Geelani and other leaders. However, our meeting was sabotaged so I decided to address a press conference”.
He also praised Kashmiris for understanding the tactics of Indian media and Intelligence agencies over dividing the leaders and the people.
Khan said that in 2016 unrest, thousands of people were either maimed or injured while over a hundred were killed in Kashmir, the Indian media was in deep slumber at that time and now are trying to defame the struggle.
“India is saying that it is cross border terrorism but our freedom struggle is indigenous movement, which has been accepted at international level,” he added.
Terming Pakistan as ‘a basic party to the Kashmir dispute’, Khan said that the country supports the Kashmir movement politically, morally and diplomatically.
Khan said that the ongoing freedom struggle is surviving only on local funding. “We need money to run this movement, without any doubt, but we have built Bait-ul-maals to fulfill the need of our pellet-hit victims and also the NRKs residing outside the country are funding to help the victims here.”
“Is it not a fact that then Indian leadership was receiving funds from Germany during their freedom struggle,” JKNF chief asked and added “Our movement also needs funding which we generate locally.”
He said that those who claim that people of Kashmir are rendering their lives for mere Rs 500 are trying to befool the world community.
Saying that the Kashmir issue is not finial issue, Khan asked, “Why India fails to curb the people from taking streets against them despite sending crores of rupees here. It is not financial issue.”
Meanwhile, Khan appealed the Press Council of India to “intervene in stopping the jingoistic journalism of certain Indian TV channels.”
Khan’s party workers on the occasion raised slogans against Indian media.
