We never begged for talks: Shah

Srinagar: Terming the statement of BJP general secretary Ram Madhav’s statement that talks with resistance leadership can be held under the ambit of the Constitution of India as ridiculous, the incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah on Tuesday said “we never begged for talks before India “.
Shah in a statement to KNS said, “We reject such offer of dialogue within Indian Constitution as the Kashmir dispute has been acknowledged by international community and backed by more than 18 IN resolutions.”
“Ram Madhav should bear in mind that Kashmir is not part of India that he and other Indian leaders will speak anything on this disputed territory. It is due to such stubborn attitude of New Delhi and unrealistic statements by Indian leaders that uncertainty prevails in Kashmir.”
Shah said the people of Jammu Kashmir have never begged for talks before India nor do they believe in bilateral dialogue but are of the view that all the stakeholders of this issue, which also includes Pakistan, be present on board.
He asked India that it can neither break our resolve through military might nor continue its illegal occupation for long.
The DFP chairman asked India that international issues are neither resolved “secretly” nor are unilateral conditions put therein but are sort out under the well formulated international laws.
“Despite sacrificing lakh of lives, we never gave up hope but continue to demand third party intervention or tripartite talks under the supervision of United Nations. The statements like one issued by Ram Madhav cannot cow down our spirit,” he said.
Commenting on Indian Army Chief’s statement, Shah said Indian forces have broken the records of inflicting tyranny and brutality on the people of Jammu Kashmir. “Now, the surgical strikers or any massive military operation can neither change the situation nor scare the people of this state,” he said.
Shah said India has been making its forces fight on borders for the last 70 years but that has not changed the reality of Kashmir dispute. “Indian military leadership should understand the real issue and realise that there is a dire need to improve the living standards of their country’s people,” he said.
